To provide for ourselves, the African
American community of New Mexico, a vehicle for the perpetual definition and
preservation of our history.
This vehicle, by keeping our history visible, will provide a means to maintain
a vital connection with our legacy past, present and future.
It will provide a focal point for engaging the African American community
of New Mexico in its own sovereign self-definition thus fostering, positive
images, and better relationships and understanding among Africans in the
Diaspora and between other socio-cultural and ethnic groups.
